At Supported Living Services Ltd, we’re fully committed to conducting our business in a lawful and ethical manner. We stand against modern slavery and human trafficking in all its forms and we work tirelessly to ensure that our operations and supply chains are free from such practices. This statement is crafted in accordance with Section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and it sets out the actions we’ve taken and continue to take in order to fulfil this commitment.

Our Business

Supported Living Services Ltd operates in the health and social care sector. Our Head Office is located in Stratford, East London and we employ over 50 and provider supported housing services to over 30 local authorities. We provide support services to adults with learning disabilities and mental health problems and have operations in England.

Our Policies on Slavery and Human Trafficking

We have a clear policy against modern slavery and human trafficking. We’re committed to ensuring transparency in our business and in dealing with our supply chains. As part of our contracting processes, we include specific prohibitions against the use of forced, compulsory, or trafficked labor, or anyone held in slavery or servitude, whether adults or children. We hold all our contractors, suppliers, and other business partners to these same high standards.

Our Supply Chains

Our supply chains include:

• the maintenance of our property
• IT support contracts
• marketing agencies
• associates delivering our training.

In order to mitigate the risk of modern slavery, we’ve taken the time to review and understand the risks these supply chains present.

Supported Living Services Ltd carries out employment checks, including making sure that our people have the right to work for us and we pay at least the Living Wage. Where we use recruitment agencies to fill temporary roles, we make sure their practices meet our standards.

Due Diligence Processes for Slavery and Human Trafficking

We have robust systems in place to identify and mitigate the risk of slavery and human trafficking. These systems allow us to:

Risk and Compliance

We have zero tolerance to slavery and human trafficking. To ensure compliance with our values, we have a supply chain compliance program in place that consists of supplier self-assessment questionnaires, supplier audits, and contractual provisions for our suppliers to confirm their adherence to this policy. We also provide training for our procurement/buying teams.

Training

We ensure a high level of understanding of the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking in our supply chains and our business by providing training to our staff. We also require our business partners to provide training to their staff, suppliers, and providers.

Effectiveness in Combating Slavery and Human Trafficking

We use several key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of our efforts to combat slavery and human trafficking. These KPIs include the completion of audits by suppliers, the use of remediation plans for suppliers found to be non-compliant, and the level of communication and understanding of our expectations by the next link in the supply chain.
